Welcome to the Town of Colchester Code Enforcement website. The Town of Colchester adopted and put into place Local Law No. 3 of the year 2016, a local law providing for the administration and enforcement of the compilation of the 2015 International Code Council Codes and New York State 2016 Code Supplement (Building Code).
Mr. Zampolin is in the office Monday – Friday from 7am to 11am. Before planning a trip to his office to see him, please call first as he may be out on inspections. Please feel free to leave a message on his answering machine and he will promptly return your call and answer any questions you have regarding building permits and construction questions. Most all construction projects require a building permit. Sheds up to 144 square feet and fences under 8′ high do not require a permit. Any activity on a flood plain property requires a permit including ground and tree work.
